News - Education Officials Review Use of Tenure: “Yet with federal law requiring schools to have a top teacher for every core class, more administrators are questioning whether tenure keeps them from getting rid of even a small number of instructors who just are not good enough in the classroom.”

Tech: Yahoo! News - Studios Cut to the Chase: “Hollywood sees Germany as a crucial battleground in its assault on piracy. Industry officials say the country is the Internet piracy capital of Western Europe. Although black-market street sales of pirated movies proliferate in Asia and Latin America, experts say, much of the problem in Germany involves widespread downloading and copying, with little social disapproval. Bootleg DVDs are openly traded in schoolyards and shown in country clubs, bus depots and even by teachers in classrooms. In addition to the home-grown piracy, movies smuggled in from Russia, Poland and the Czech Republic feed a busy network of German flea markets. ”

US: From the Memory Hole, a 5-minute video of Bush 43 on the morning of 9/11. The networks made some cuts when they broadcast this tape, which shows “… President Bush sitting in a Florida classroom for 5 minutes after he was told that the second Twin Tower has been hit and that America was being attacked. A truncated version of this footage that has been available online since June 2002 shows Bush for only 2 minutes, 10 seconds after being told. This new footage more than doubles this length of time.”
