OpenID is a dis­trib­uted or fed­er­ated authen­ti­ca­tion sys­tem that lets users access thou­sands of par­tic­i­pat­ing web sites with a sin­gle set of credentials.

We have been using Dis­qus for com­ment man­age­ment since 25 Decem­ber 2008. Dis­qus sup­ports OpenID and Face­book Connect.
