Twittering the Academy of Management meeting

by billso on Friday, 7 August 2009

I’m not in Chicago for the 2009 annual meeting of the Academy of Management this weekend. I’d love to attend, but I’m grading papers for the two graduate seminars I’ve been teaching this summer here in Honolulu.

This year’s conference theme is green management, so am I honoring the theme by not flying 4250 miles to Chicago? Perhaps.

But I will be watching the tweets! The conference organizers have asked participants to use #AOM2009 as a Twitter hashtag, and I’ve already posted some tagged tweets as @billso

The Academy also has an official Twitter account that will be used to post conference news: @AOMConnect

There is a dedicated web page for displaying these tweets at #AOM2009 Twitter Updates and most Twitter clients can display search results.

I’ve posted a Twitter search widget below. It works in the mobile version of this article if you are using an iPhone, and it should work on Windows and Mac browsers.

The widget is also available at http://billso.com/aom2009/
