Ethics in social media panel on July 10, 2009

by billso on Wednesday, 8 July 2009

I’m part of a panel discussion on ethics in social media this Friday, July 10 at the ING Direct Cafe in Waikiki. See the Social Media Club Hawaii site and an article called July 10 Meeting: Ethics in Social Media for more details.

If you can’t attend the meeting, there should be a live video stream starting around 5:30 PM Hawaii Time.

Roxanne Darling has posted Ethics in Social Media: A Glossary, including several relevant terms, models and concepts.

I’ll be discussing some concepts from the field of business ethics, including:

  • privacy issues
  • self-tests for ethical behavior
  • regulation schemes for the social media, advertising and marketing industries

If you have a question that you’d like me to address, use the form at the Social Media Club Hawaii site, or DM me on Twitter or Facebook.

Great list of links there Bill; I am very much looking forward to your participation! And you get an A for etiquette too by blogging about the link and sharing your participation with your network.
