According to a post today on Pipeline, the university’s WebCT system has been running slowly today.
Of course, my courses do not use WebCT.
But I’ve also been told that TurnItIn.com is generating originality reports slowly. Usually an originality report is available within a few minutes after a file is submitted.
However, because it’s the end of the spring term for most US universities, TurnItIn.com is experiencing a heavy user load as students submit their final exams and assignments.
My students should plan ahead as they work on their final exam drafts. There’s nothing I can do to make TurnItIn.com generate originality reports quickly.
That’s one reason I posted the IS 6100 and IS 7010 final exams almost 3 weeks ago.
Of course, the submission process is still working fine, and the system is generating and emailing digital receipts for each submission.
As long as the final exams are submitted by the deadlines I’ve indicated, TurnItIn.com should accept the papers. It may just take a while to generate the originality reports, that’s all.
