Tech: Here’s a great list of Windows freeware courtesy of OSnews. I use several of these products and have recommended them in the past. If you are a student or just don’t want to spend much money on software, this list is a great place to start.

Google has found me

Blog: I’m told that a few people are reading this blog. Friends, students, and random people who find these entries amusing are more than welcome here. I write for myself, to vent, to record articles I’ll want to find later, and to spread the snarky love from my secret volcanic lair.

Remember that you can always subscribe to my blog through My Yahoo, Bloglines or an RSS reader. Look for the subscription links on the right side of the page. I like Web-based readers a lot, as I use several computers and don’t want to install an RSS client on them all.

Google is starting to catch up on my entries, and I’m looking for another search engine solution to help you find your way around.

In the meantime, Clay Shirky has an interesting article about the domination of a few blogs, which provides some inspiration to get me through the bloggy tropical evenings.

Aloha!

Tech: The New York Times explains why VoIP wiretapping requires companies to pass the extra costs along to customers. VoIP taps also involve packet sniffing and increased latency for all Internet communications.

USA: Van Odell admits he has no documentation to back up his claims against Kerry. Kerry actually has witnesses to support his documented actions in the field, and witnesses keep coming forward. Michelle Malkin won’t admit she was wrong when she got hacked up on Hardball over the so-called “self-inflicted wounds” story.

W has flimsy documentation and no real witnesses to support his own claim that he was not AWOL from the Guard. W’s campaign seems to be coordinating the Swifties at some level, and the Swifties are contradicting themselves.

Kerry actually fought in Vietnam when W, Cheney, Wolfowitz and others were hiding at home. W is trying to reassure doubting Republicans, lest they stay home on Election Day. End of story.
