Movies: Yahoo! News - Keillor’s Characters May Hit Silver Screen: This could be a really interesting project. “A cinematic version of the popular radio show is tentatively set to begin shooting in January at the Fitzgerald Theater, with director Robert Altman at the helm, the Star Tribune of Minneapolis reported Saturday. Keillor wrote the screenplay — about life backstage at the radio show. The movie is expected to star Meryl Streep and Lily Tomlin as a fading sister duet act and Tom Waits and Lyle Lovett as Dusty and Lefty, the singing cowboys. ”

USA: Yahoo! News - Flight 93 Passengers Saved Lives on 9/11: As much as I enjoy reading alternative history and what-if stories, reading this page from the 9-11 report made me physically ill. “America would have been even more devastated that sunny late-summer morning — the Capitol aflame or the White House destroyed — if not for a few dozen strangers on an airplane who took the kind of quick, decisive action their government was incapable of on Sept. 11.”

Yahoo! News - Bigger Breasts for Free: Join the Army: This just smells like a bad idea. “The U.S. Army has long lured recruits with the slogan “Be All You Can Be,” but now soldiers and their families can receive plastic surgery, including breast enlargements, on the taxpayers’ dime. The New Yorker magazine reports in its July 26th edition that members of all four branches of the U.S. military can get face-lifts, breast enlargements, liposuction and nose jobs for free — something the military says helps surgeons practice their skills.”
