US: I got a laugh reading AlterNet’s piece on high school security:
High school students interviewed across the country are saying the same thing: ‘They’re making schools like prisons.’ And it’s not hard to see their point.
Like spam, this is a tragedy of the commons issue. A minority of high school students bring items to school that don’t belong there, so the school starts searching everyone. That’s their job — to protect the majority of students who just want to get through the school day without extra hassle.
